Adam Thielen Wide Receiver, Minnesota Vikings

How did Adam Thielen go from Detroit Lakes High School in northwestern Minnesota to an NFL All-Pro honoree? The Star Tribune is thrilled to announce the Vikings’ wide receiver will tell some of that story himself to our All-Metro Sports Awards audience on June 26 at Target Field. After playing and striving in three sports in Detroit Lakes, Adam starred for the Mavericks at Minnesota State Mankato. Athletic careers often end after four collegiate seasons, especially at the Division II level, but Adam made his own path. Today, he’s one of the Vikings’ top players, a fan favorite, and a big reason why the 2017 Vikings season was so memorable. As he prepares for his fifth NFL season this fall, Thielen continues to write a story that stands among the most inspirational in modern Minnesota sports.
